The Scots Fiddle Festival seeks to sustain and promote Scottish fiddle tradition and idioms, by providing a platform for performance, education, and participation. A weekend of concerts, recitals, workshops, talks and exhibitions is held on an annual basis highlighting regional Scottish fiddle styles and intercultural connections.
Held over three days every November, the programme includes two concerts, ten recitals, twelve workshops, eight talks, sessions, open stages, stramashes, two nights of festival clubs, and two ceilidhs. There is also a full Youth Gaitherin program for 9-18 year olds over the weekend. Alongside the musical programme approximately fifteen stall holders take part, selling a range of arts, crafts, sheet music and instruments. A café and bar are run throughout the weekend.
This year’s festival is going to be different as it will be spread across three venues. Due to their close proximity, we think that the buzz and community feel of the festival will be preserved and even enhanced. We encourage participants to embrace the change and have a wonderful, music filled weekend.
