Markey and Greig have been touring internationally with The Paul McKenna Band for 8 years, and have recently started playing as a duo, first showcased at Colonsay Folk Festival 2021.

Initially an All-Britain multi-champion banjo player, Coatbridge’s Conor Markey is also a singer/guitarist who honed his stagecraft in the rowdy pubs across Glasgow. His passion and dedication to traditional music has seen him appearing at festivals across Europe, America and Australia, performing alongside acts such as Dougie MacLean, Foy Vance, Four Men and a Dog, The East Pointers and Réalta.

Edinburgh-born fiddler Robbie Greig is in high-demand as a session musician, having appeared with many of Scotland’s foremost acts including Niteworks, Breabach, Talisk, Malinky, Fred Morrison and the aforementioned Paul McKenna Band. The only ever recipient of the Niel Gow Fiddle Award, his style marries Scottish and Irish music in a “stunning, perfect way” (Bright Young Folk).

Together, they showcase a selection of beautiful tunes old and new with a blend of evocative songs from across Scotland, Ireland and America, all delivered with a stage presence honed over 10 years of international touring.

In addition to their Sunday Showcase, Robbie will be hosting the following workshop:

Robbie Greig - Playing with Singers (Advanced) - A look at how the nuances of a song influence how we accompany it on the fiddle.
