Dylan Cairns
Dylan Cairns is a traditional fiddler, guitarist and hurdy-gurdy player based in Glasgow, Scotland. He currently performs with the Capstan Quartet, 3ManJob, and in the band of multi-award-winning Scots Singer Ellie Beaton. His playing draws from styles around the world; from his upbringing in West Wales and his touring across Europe with acts such as Dallahan, Sketch, and in his long-standing duo with accordionist Sam Mabbett (The Canny Band, Ross Couper Band). Since his time studying at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, he remains a stalwart of the Glasgow session scene.
In 2021, Dylan, along with Neil Wood, co-founded the Folks' Music Project Cic which provides low-cost traditional music education to children and adults in the greater Glasgow area. The project has seen success in building new traditional music communities in Neilston and Barrhead and was nominated for Community Project of the Year at the Scots Trad Music Awards 2022.
